Understanding General Practice, Michael Wright Local Medical Council
Following negative and damaging coverage about general practice in the media, our Chief Executive Michael Wright, has produced a video to help patients understand some of the unique challenges that practices face daily. You can access the video here if you wish to share it on your social platforms to help raise awareness and understanding amongst your patient populations.
The Institute of General Practice Management (IGPM) has also put a video together to raise awareness of the abuse that practice staff receive from patients. You can access their video here.

On 4th July UK travel advice changed with exemptions for travelling to

certain countries and territories that no longer pose a high risk for British

travellers. The government website provides guidance for those planning to travel abroad. As your GP practice, it is not our policy to issue COVID-19 certificates for international travel purposes.

The only Travel Vaccinations/Service which is available of the NHS free of charge are:

Any additional vaccinations or travel advice you require for example malaria, water hygiene, sun protection, yellow fever will be at a cost to yourself through a private travel clinic. Please follow the practice protocol below when wishing to use this service:

  • Give the practice 6 weeks notice
  • Travel vaccinations will only be given for single destination holidays. This does not include volunteer work, backpacking, medical procedures and cruises
  • If we are not able give you your vaccinations you can contact the private travel clinic. Ask at reception for details.
  • No variation in available appointments and if you do not attend your original appointment it will not be re-scheduled.
