Services offered by the practice include:
New Patient Checks. These are offered for all our new patient and are usually done by our Health Care Assistants .
Minor Surgery. All doctors offer cryotherapy and joint injections but Dr Pearce, Barry and Dhamrait have an interest in Minor surgical procedures.
Maternity Services. Run by our community midwife on a Monday and Wednesday.
Vaccination. Regular Flu vaccination clinics are run between September and March to cover the at risk times.We are particularly keen to target those with Chronic illnesses such as Diabetes or Asthma.We also offer Pneumococcal vaccine and other immunisations such as Swine Flu.
Health Checks.Various general check ups are available with the doctors or our HCA.We provide screening for lipids (cholesterol) and Helicobacter breath testing for those with digestion problems to name a few services.We also provide in house ECG and Sprirometry testing
Contraception Services.This is provided by all the doctors.We also provide Depo injections but not Implanon or the Mirena coil (Family Planning clinics are available locally free of charge)
Travel Vaccinations. Approximately fortnightly clinics will be run by our nurse depending on demand. See separate section. Please plan ahead as we cannot provide an effective service with only 2 or 3 days notice. Last minute vaccination may not provide adequate protection.
Cervical Smears. We have a 3 yearly recall system and follow up using liquid based testing
Child Immunisations. Baby clinics are run by all of the Partners working with our Practice nurses starting at 8 weeks of age.
All GP Partners offer wart removal appointments and we have our own store of liquid nitrogen. If you are unable to attend special clinics please book a double appointment to see one of the partners.

Private Medical Examinations. HGV and Sports or Insurance medicals are available at an additional cost. These are usually quite time consuming and we would normally ask for a small deposit to secure your appointment.
As with immediate effect Dr Vanessa Pearce is now qualified to offer a Coil Fitting Service to all ladies who may find this beneficial. For further information please contact reception.

Choose and Book is a service that allows you to choose where and when your first out-patient appointment takes place. You can book your initial appointment at the surgery following your consultation with the doctor. Rebecca Walker Lead Receptionist or Shelley Clarke Deputy Practice Manager can be contacted if you have any problems.
IT IS NOT OUR POLICY TO PROVIDE COVID- 19 FIT TO FLY AIRLINE LETTERS.
On 4th July UK travel advice changed with exemptions for travelling to
certain countries and territories that no longer pose a high risk for British
travellers. The government website provides guidance for those planning to travel abroad. www.gov.uk/guidance/travel-advice-novel-coronavirus. As your GP practice, it is not our policy to issue COVID-19 certificates for international travel purposes.
The only Travel Vaccinations/Service which is available of the NHS free of charge are:
Any additional vaccinations or travel advice you require for example malaria, water hygiene, sun protection, yellow fever will be at a cost to yourself through a private travel clinic. Prior to your appointment our nursing team will research which of the vaccines listed above you require (if any), and during your appointment administer them on the NHS free of charge, but no further services are available from this practice.

You do not require a doctor's sickness certificate for any illness lasting seven days or less. Your employer may however require you to complete a self-certification form (SC2) which is available from your employer or on the HMRC website.
For any illness lasting longer than seven days you will need to see the doctor for him/her to issue a sickness certificate (F.med3) and for any subsequent renewal of the certificate. If your employer insists on a sickness certificate for 7 days or less a charge will be levied.
We can issue back dated sick notes if you are unable to come in on a particular day or appointments are limited.If you have only just come out of hospital but have a discharge note we can use that as evidence and provide you with cover.Please speak to one of the partners for advice if in doubt we will normally answer your calls at the end of morning surgery.
Certificates for insurance companies can be provided but there is usually a charge.We would recommend you make an appointment to see us if the certificate is long or complicated.
