Understanding General Practice, Michael Wright Local Medical Council

Following negative and damaging coverage about general practice in the media, our Chief Executive Michael Wright, has produced a video to help patients understand some of the unique challenges that practices face daily. You can access the video here if you wish to share it on your social platforms to help raise awareness and understanding amongst your patient populations.

The Institute of General Practice Management (IGPM) has also put a video together to raise awareness of the abuse that practice staff receive from patients. You can access their video here.

Please help us to help you by cancelling a pre-booked appointment when you no longer require it.

We are still open and here for you. We are continuing to provide services as we have been doing throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. We are prioritising delivering of care and services based on clinical needs. Face-to-face appointments are available to all patients where there is a clinical need.

Due to Covid-19 a full telephone triage service is in operation. For routine calls you will be given an approximate time that the GP will call but they could call upto 30 minutes before or after that time due to emergencies. For urgent matters you will be told if the GP will call you AM or PM. After speaking to the patient on the telephone the clinician will book a face to face appointment with patients that they feel it is necessary to see.

Your NHS services have a range of measures in place to keep you safe from COVID19 including regular cleaning of patient areas and social distancing. Please ensure you wear a face covering to your appointment.

If you have a disability or condition which means you cannot wear a face covering or cannot communicate with someone who is wearing a face mask, or require other adjustments before your appointment, please let the surgery know ahead of your arrival.
