Late Arrivals and Non Attendance

If a patient fails to attend an appointment or cancel an appointment giving less than 60 minutes’ notice this will be recorded as they did not attend. If this becomes persistent behaviour the Patient Removal protocol will be activated.


If a patient is late for an appointment the following rules will apply:

    • Less than 5 – be seen in turn

    • Between 5-10 minutes – be asked to sit and wait for a convenient time slot during surgery, this maybe the end of the surgery.

    • 10 minutes or more – be asked to re-book
