Specialist Nurses
The Practice works with a vast team of experienced nurses is all specialities. These include a respiratory, diabetes, heart failure and palliative care nurse. The community matron is also available for patients who require a lot of support with their illness. These specialised clinicians can assess your physical mental and social care needs to enable you to cope better in the Community.

Community Midwives
The Community Midwife Team run regular antenatal clinics within the surgery on a Tuesday and Wednesday and can contacted outside these days if required. If you think you might be pregnant please arrange to see us as soon as possible to arrange your dating scan and Folic Acid supplementation.
Community Nurses
District Nurses are available for home nursing care when necessary and also for general nursing advice. They can be contacted via the surgery. We also have access to Intensive Home Support where more support is needed during a crisis.
Health Visitors
Health visitors are available to support families particularly under the age of 5 years. You can contact staff at their base on Tel 01623 785527.
Counsellors
Counselling services are offered at Churchside as part of Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT). Your GP can arrange referral and the service will contact you by telephone and offer various levels of support from counsellors to psychologists. We also have access to a Crisis Team if patients feel extremely low and at risk. For alcohol problems we can put you in touch with CGL who can advise on anything from brief interventions to a full detoxification.
Macmillan Nurses
We have close links with Macmillan nurses based at John Eastwood Hospice.We can arrange referral for advice on support pain relief benefits and possible Hospice care or respite.
